Colonial Curve—Finish & Stop
A classic Colonial curve—an elegant, soft ogee—does double duty as a shoe moulding at the baseboard and as a door stop on the jamb. Used as a shoe, it finishes the wall-to-floor edge and hides small expansion gaps for a seamless transition; as a stop, it defines the door’s resting plane and helps reduce light leaks. Milled in Paulownia hardwood that’s notably lightweight and easy to finish, and delivered factory-primed for a porcelain-smooth, paint-ready surface and stocked in 1-1/4 height and 7′ / 10′ lengths to fit common runs and openings.
Features
- Dual-use profile: It functions as shoe moulding (covers floor–wall gaps, finishes baseboards) and as a door stop (attaches to jambs, stops swing-through, helps block light).
- Colonial / ogee face: gentle S-curve associated with Colonial-style trims.
- Material: Paulownia hardwood—very lightweight and easy to work with; takes glue/paint/finish well.
- Factory-primed, paint-ready surface speeds finishing and improves topcoat results.
- Standard sizes: 1-1/4 in height; 7′ / 10′ lengths align with typical stop/shoe inventory for efficient layouts.
- Installation: Cut, mitre, or cope as needed; nail to jamb (as stop) or to baseboard/wall (as shoe); caulk, and paint.
