Brass PEX Female Sweat Adapter
Half the plumbing in the country is copper, and half the repairs happen in PEX — the female sweat adapter is where the two eras meet. Its cup end solders over standard 1/2″ copper pipe with ordinary flux and lead-free solder; its other end is a 1/2″ ASTM F1807 barb that crimps to PEX with a copper ring or stainless steel pinch clamp. That makes it the fitting for extending a copper trunk in PEX, repairing a burst section without repiping the house, or landing a new fixture off a fifty-year-old riser. Forged from lead-free brass for potable hot and cold service, it installs in the order every plumber knows: sweat the copper joint first, let it cool, then crimp the PEX — the barb never sees the torch. Sold as a single for the service call or a 50-pack for the crew that lives in retrofit work.
