Pre-Machined Door Jamb — Solid Wood, Hinge-Mortised Primed Frame

A pre-machined door jamb in finger-joint wood arrives with the hinge mortises already cut, so a slab hangs square and swings true without laying out and chiselling each hinge pocket on site. It's the same primed, paint-ready finger-joint frame as our blank jamb stock — but the hinge-side machining is done at the factory for repeatable placement and a faster hang. Order it sized for a 78-inch or 80-inch door height (80 inch is today's most common interior standard), then plumb and fasten the legs, hang the slab on the pre-cut mortises, set your reveals, and add casing and a doorstop to finish the opening. Finger-joint construction keeps the jamb legs straight and dimensionally stable, holds a hinge screw, and takes a finish coat cleanly. Choose this over blank jamb stock when you want to skip the hinge layout entirely; choose the blank jamb when you need to match non-standard hardware or hinge spacing.
