ABS 45° wye for a smooth branch tie-in on an ABS DWV line — the Y-shaped junction that brings a branch into the main at a gentle 45° instead of a square 90°, so waste slides in with the flow rather than crashing across it. All three ends are hub sockets sized for Schedule 40 IPS ABS, solvent-welded for a rigid, sealed joint. It meets ASTM D2661 and CSA B181.1 and carries cUPC and NSF/ANSI 14 certification, the listings an inspector checks on a residential or light-commercial rough-in across the GTA. The 45° sweep is the preferred branch pattern on the drainage side because it keeps solids moving and resists clogs. Stocked in 1½", 2", and 3" — the sizes that cover most branch and cleanout tie-ins. Wyes are non-pressurized DWV only; test hydrostatically, never with compressed air or gas.
