Dishwasher branch. Clean, code-friendly.
Under-sink tie-in made simple: this ABS dishwasher wye solvent-welds to 1-1/2″ ABS DWV at the central and branch hubs, then accepts a 1/2″ barbed dishwasher drain hose for a secure connection (use an appropriate clamp). Built for non-pressurized DWV service and aligned to ASTM D2661 and CSA B181.1; ABS DWV systems are commonly cUPC/NSF-14 listed. Follow local code—many jurisdictions require a high loop or air gap on dishwasher drains.
Features
- Purpose-built tie-in: Routes dishwasher discharge into the sink drain via a compact wye branch; marketed by Canadian retailers as “Dishwasher Wye” for ABS DWV.
- Connections: Hub × Hub sockets solvent-weld to 1-1/2″ ABS; 1/2″ barbed outlet grips flexible dishwasher hose—secure with a clamp where required.
- DWV only: For non-pressurized drain, waste, and vent systems; manufacturers warn never to air-test ABS DWV with compressed air/gas.
- Standards & listings: ABS DWV fittings conform to ASTM D2661 and CSA B181.1 and are commonly listed as cUPC/NSF-14.
- Code note: Many authorities require a high loop or an air gap on dishwasher drains; appliance manufacturers also specify a ~32″ high loop when no air gap is used.
