Code-Required Safety, Ten to a Box.
Since tamper-resistant receptacles became mandatory in Canadian residential construction, the spring-shutter outlet stopped being an upgrade and became the baseline — the CEC requires it in every new and renovated home. This Leviton 15A duplex is that code-required receptacle in contractor quantity: internal shutters that only open when both blades of a plug push in together, blocking the single-object insertion that puts small children at risk. Each outlet takes Quickwire push-in terminals for #14 AWG or side-wire screws up to #12, with a self-grounding clip that bonds to a metal box automatically and captive mounting screws pre-staged in the strap so nothing rolls off the rough-in. The high-impact thermoplastic face resists scuffs and fading, and the NEMA 5-15R configuration fits every standard residential plug. Ten receptacles to a box, priced for the electrician outletting a whole house to code.
