When an old multi-turn stop finally seizes or weeps, the last thing you want is to cut into the wall stub to replace it. This retrofit stop solves that: its inlet is a 3/8″ female compression thread that screws directly onto the existing 3/8″ compression stub left behind when you back off the failed valve — no cutting, no soldering, no re-sweating a joint. The 3/8″ compression outlet then takes the same flexible supply riser back up to the faucet or toilet. Inside is a modern quarter-turn ball instead of the rubber-washer stem that failed in the first place, so the replacement seats positively and stays that way. The body is lead-free brass under polished chrome, clean under an exposed vanity. It turns a dreaded valve replacement into a two-wrench job done in minutes.
