Brass PEX Drop Ear Elbow
Grab any shower arm and wiggle it — if it moves, someone skipped the drop ear. The brass PEX drop ear elbow is the anchor behind the wall: a 90° fitting with a three-hole mounting flange that screws to blocking, so the shower arm, tub spout, or hose bibb threading into it stays put through decades of daily use. The inlet is a 1/2″ ASTM F1807 barb that crimps to the PEX supply with a standard copper ring or stainless steel pinch clamp; the outlet is a 1/2″ female pipe thread that accepts any standard nipple or fixture arm. Forged from lead-free DZR brass and rated for potable hot and cold supply, it belongs in the fixture wall of every bathroom on the plan. Sold as a single for the one-bath reno or a 25-pack for the crew roughing in the whole floor — it's the difference between finish plumbing that feels solid and finish plumbing that rattles.
