Brass PEX Male Sweat Adapter
No room in the joist bay for a stub of copper? That's exactly the job of the brass PEX × male sweat street adapter. Its copper end is sized like 1/2″ pipe itself, so it solders directly inside an existing elbow, tee, or coupling — no jumper, one less solder joint, an inch of space saved where there wasn't an inch to spare. The other end is a 1/2″ ASTM F1807 barb that crimps to PEX with a standard copper ring or stainless steel pinch clamp once the soldered side has cooled. Machined from lead-free brass, cUPC certified and rated to NSF/ANSI 61, it makes the copper-to-PEX handoff exactly where the old system already branches. The order never changes: solder first, let it cool, then crimp — the barb never sees the torch. Sold as a single for the service call or a 50-pack for the van that lives in retrofit country.
