Brass Sweat × PEX Elbow
Copper comes out of the wall and PEX needs to turn — the brass female sweat × PEX 90° elbow handles both in one forged piece. On one end, a solder cup that sweats onto standard 1/2″ copper; on the other, a 1/2″ ASTM F1807 crimp barb, set at a right angle so a retrofit line changes direction the moment it changes material. That geometry earns its keep in tight renovation spaces, replacing a sweat elbow, a nipple, and a transition coupling with a single fitting — fewer joints, fewer places to leak behind a sealed wall. Forged from lead-free C46500 brass, cUPC certified and rated to NSF/ANSI 61 for potable water and hydronic service, it installs in the order every plumber knows: solder first, let it cool, then crimp — the barb never sees the torch. One for the service call, or the 25-pack for crews that spend their weeks converting old copper to new PEX.
